Being a member of the Ancient Order of Gray Geezers, I am still getting used to Computerspeak. Recently I discovered "blogs". As a kid (not yet a century ago), I remember playing with Lincoln Logs. Never called them Blincoln Blogs, even though my father would occasionally tell me to "pick up your blinkin' logs!"
I've also learned about such things as ROTFLMAO - that it really isn't anything about rotting, or From the Late Mao (FLMAO) of the People's Republic of China. Fortunately most comments that people have posted that were followed by ROTFLMAO did not send me rolling on the floor, or even laughing - let alone laughing my ass off. Maybe a giggle or two. SIMCGAL: Sitting In My Chair, Giggling A Little. Falling out of the chair and rolling on the floor could hurt, maybe break a bone. Don't want that to happen.
Then I found out about OMG! Oh. My. God!
And WTF? (which I immediately translate as "Why The Frown?). I don't use dirty words.
IMHG(OMG)O: "In My Honest Gay (OMG) Opinion." There, I said it. As my brief bio says, "Got a problem wit dat?"
Which brings me to the point of this blog. I (or we, as you are welcome to comment) will talk about things dealing with sexual orientation. We will (See? You're part of it already!) discuss all aspects relating to religion, politics, and various social and behavioral issues. And, being the intelligent people that we claim to be, there will be no ad hominems (you can look it up).
There is only one other requirement: You must possess a sense of humor! My humor is usually self-deprecating - unless I'm talking about the current roster of Repugnican presidential contenders. I can't self-deprecate when they self-defecate, especially when it comes to equal rights (and responsibilities) for ALL people.
Can we tawk? Give me your thoughts about: Same-Sex Marriage.
BTW (Hey! I'm learning!) the background of this blog site resembles my own walls. Books. LOTS of books!
I have an autographed copy of John's book, "God told me to draw these," and the book's illustrations are the most amazing depictions of gays being themselves, and exercising their First Amendment rights as Human beings and American Citizens without being attacked physically or verbally. Religious ignorance concerning homosexuality gets a fresh breath of Enlightenment throughout this well written and illustrated book.
